Terms of Use

Last updated 19 August 2026

These terms are the agreement between you and Swing. Using the app — on iPhone, in Chrome, or anywhere else we ship it — means you agree to them. They're written to be read, not to hide anything; if something's unclear, ask us.

Who we are

Swing is operated by Jordan Thomas, United Kingdom. Contact for anything in these terms: hello@getswing.co.uk. How we handle your data is covered separately — and just as plainly — in our Privacy Policy.

The service

Swing is a personal planning product: a daily planner, time-blocked schedule, habit tracking, journal, project workspace, notes and capture inbox, with an AI coach ("Zeus") woven through it. Features vary by platform and plan and evolve over time — we ship often, and part of what you're signing up for is a product that improves.

Your account

You need an account (Google, Apple, or email) to use Swing. Keep your sign-in to yourself: you're responsible for what happens under your account. You must be 16 or older. One free trial and one free tier per person — not per email address you can invent.

Plans, subscriptions and billing

Swing has a free tier that stays free: the core planner, projects, notes and habits. Paid plans (Pro and Max) unlock more — higher AI limits, integrations, and team features — and are sold as auto-renewing subscriptions, billed monthly or yearly.

Buying on iPhone (App Store)

Subscriptions bought in the iOS app go through Apple. Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase. The subscription renews automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, and your Apple Account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the period ends. You can manage or cancel any time in your device's Settings → your name → Subscriptions; cancelling stops future renewals but doesn't refund the current period. Refunds for App Store purchases are handled by Apple under Apple's own policies, at reportaproblem.apple.com.

Buying on the web or in Chrome (Stripe)

Subscriptions bought outside the App Store are processed by Stripe. They renew automatically until cancelled; you can cancel, change plan, or update your card any time from Settings → Plans → Manage billing, and cancelling takes effect at the end of the paid period. If something's gone wrong with a charge, email us — your statutory rights aren't affected by anything here.

The free trial

New accounts can take a 7-day free trial of Pro. No card is taken; it simply ends after 7 days and your account returns to the free tier with everything you made intact. One trial per account, ever.

Promo codes

We sometimes issue promo codes granting free access. They have no cash value, may be limited in number or duration, apply once per account, and we can withdraw a code that's being abused. Access granted by a code isn't a purchase and isn't refundable — it was free.

Price changes

If we change a subscription price, we'll tell you before it affects you, and it takes effect from your next renewal — never mid-period. If you don't like the new price, cancel before renewal and pay nothing more.

Your content

Your content is yours. Tasks, notes, journals, projects, everything you put into Swing remains your property. You grant us only the licence needed to operate the product: storing your content, syncing it between your devices, sharing it with teammates you invite, and processing it through the AI features you use. We don't sell it and we don't use it to train AI models — see the Privacy Policy for the full picture. You can export your data, and deleting your account deletes your content.

The AI coach

Zeus is a coaching-style assistant built on large language models. It's designed to be useful and direct, but it can be wrong, and its output is not medical, mental-health, legal, or financial advice. For anything in those territories, talk to a qualified professional. Don't rely on AI output for decisions where an error would seriously cost you without checking it yourself.

Acceptable use

Availability and changes

We aim for Swing to be reliably available, but we don't promise uninterrupted service — things break, providers fail, maintenance happens. We may add, change, or retire features. If we ever discontinue Swing entirely or remove something materially important to paid plans, we'll give you reasonable notice and a fair resolution on anything already paid.

Ending things

You can stop any time: cancel subscriptions as above, and delete your account from Settings → Account → Delete account — it's immediate and irreversible. We can suspend or close accounts that break these terms, and where the breach is serious we may do so immediately; otherwise we'll warn you first.

Liability

Swing is provided "as is". To the extent the law allows, we're not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for loss of profits, business, or data caused by events outside our reasonable control. Where we are liable, our total liability is capped at the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that can't legally be excluded — including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud — and nothing here reduces your statutory rights as a consumer.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and disputes go to the courts of England and Wales — except that if you're a consumer elsewhere, you keep any mandatory protections and court access your local law gives you.

Changes to these terms

If we make a material change we'll update the date at the top and tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect. Carrying on using Swing after that means you accept the updated terms; if you don't, stop using the service and cancel — that's always your right.
